5 Badass Tree Houses You Can Rent in the United States

5 Badass Treehouses You Can Rent in the United States for Vacation

Host to unique rentals (think - safari tents, cabins, treehouse's, etc.), I've been following the account Glamping Hub for awhile now on Instagram, admiring the electric mix of rentals they have available around the world. So it wasn't too far of a stretch when, on a whim, I decided to check out what was available to rent for my trip to Hot Springs, AK next month.

I had a hotel booked but thought I'd take a look around and long story short I 1) requested to rent a yurt in Hot Springs, and 2) staying in a tree house moved up quite a bit on my travel bucket list.

So in the spirit of feeling inspired to stay in such a unique place I wanted to share the top 5 treehouse's that I found on Glamping Hub to stay in in the United States. Happy glamping!

1. Hudson Valley, New York

There's a reason that this tree house comes up first on Glamping Hub's 'Best Tree Houses of 2017' list. It's unassuming exterior gives way to a fun, light and 'modern meets vintage' interior style inside.

The full kitchen and 2000 square foot deck with a grilling area are my favorite amenities of this fantastic treehouse, however it also comes equipped with wi-fi, satellite TV, and full heating and air conditioning to keep you connected to the real-world.

Cost: Approximately $268/night

2. Point Reyes Station, CA

This 12-person luxury tree house rental is a STEAL. The quick math will tell you that approximately $700/night divided by 12 people is roughly $59/night, making this tree house not only fun, but incredibly affordable for a fun, friend-filled getaway. However that's only the beginning.

This multi-level (seriously, it's 4 floors!) tree house's 3,200 square feet footprint is only matched by it's 3,500 square feet deck and private hot tub. With six bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, laundry, wifi, and satellite TV this tree house is situated less than an hour from San Francisco, Napa-Sonoma, and provides font row views of all that nature has to offer in Point Reyes National Seashore.

Cost: Approximately $698.50/night

3. Santa Cruz Mountains, California

Like something out of a fairy tale, this cozy and sweet tree house is located in the beautiful Redwoods and provides the perfect couples getaway to the mountains. Fully equipped with wi-fi, linens, a working kitchen and a private hot tub, this tree house will take you to faraway places at an affordable price.

Cost: Approximately $155/night

4. Asheville, North Carolina

If Joanna Gaines asked you what you want your tree house to look like and you said "rustic meets farmhouse" this may well be close to the outcome you'd get (maybe with a bit more gray and white). Beautifully decorated with a fantastic use of space, this 600 square foot tree house in the mountains of Asheville sleeps up to 6 people and includes a fully equipped kitchen, deck, porch and fire pit, and best of all it's completely eco-friendly, ensuring that you're reducing your footprint while enjoying all the luxuries of glamping.

Cost: Approximately $188/night

5. Walhalla, South Carolina

They say to save the best for last and this tree house in Walhalla is my favorite. Nestled privately on a 40 acre farm in South Carolina this tree house embodies elegance and romance. Floor-to-ceiling windows, white-washed wooden walls, chandeliers, record players and antique furniture will make you never want to leave, except for that you'll definitely want to hike along the 2.5 miles of trails, explore the untouched forest and various gardens on the property.

Cost: Approximately $284/night

Truth be told I haven't even scrapped the surface of the unique and fun tree houses that are available, let alone the other fun listings that are on the Glamping Hub website. If I could pass along any advice it's that you take a look at these listings when you have some time on your hands, because my quick request to book our yurt for Arkansas turned into a 90 minute Glamping Hub excursion. Your travel bucket list will grow, of that I'm sure.

Have you ever stayed in a tree house? Tell me about it!
