February Roundup: My Favorites From Around the Web

February Roundup: My favorite recipes, products, articles and bloggers from around the web

March will be here in less than 24 hours and that means one thing - spring is just around the corner! I couldn't be more excited to close the books on February (my least favorite month of the year), and to welcome March.

In addition to being excited for the new month, I'm also excited to debut a new monthly series that I'll be posting on the last day of each month. I am constantly inspired by other bloggers, books, food and people, and I'm going to share what I'm loving and what is inspiring me.

I love myself an amazing French Dip sandwich, but I have not had a homemade one that I loved more than a restaurant version. I prefer homemade food for many reasons; you can control what ingredients you use (saving yourself LOTS of unneeded calories, fat and sugar), it usually tastes better, and I cooking is a love of mine. So after trying and feeling 'meh' about many recipes, I finally found a French Dip recipe that I loved from The Salty Marshmallow

I knew I wanted a slow cooker recipe so the roast could just slowwwwwwwly cook all day long, but for any of you that has an InstaPot this recipe has instructions for how to cook it in both - bonus! I followed it to a tee, and at the end I placed the sandwich, open-faced, on a baking sheet with Swiss cheese on each sandwich and baked them at 400 for 10 minutes to melt the cheese and toast the bread. And my secret to a French Dip (and maybe it's less of a secret and more of preference), but I dip mine in the au jus, then in pepperoncini juice. You know, the juice from a jar of the Italian green peppers. It's SO GOOD!

February Roundup: The Elizabeth Street Post

I don't remember who I followed on Instagram that the app recommended Alaina Kaczmarski, but I'm so glad it did! Alaina is the co-founder of The Everygirl (which I read daily!), but she's also this lovely woman that is remodeling a greystone in Chicago, expecting a baby, and I adore her style in both home and fashion (think: neutral palette). She has her own personal blog, The Elizabeth Street Post, where she's constantly sharing her favorite picks in home, style, decor and travel, and her blog is definitely one of my new favs!

We live in a time of great uncertainty, instability and change. There are many important topics that are being addressed, and one of those topics is the #MeToo movement. A few days ago Monica Lewinsky wrote an incredible piece for Vanity Fair talking in-depth about her experience in the 90s and how she feels it relates (or doesn't relate - read it to find out!) to the #MeToo movement. It's incredibly well written, and if you haven't followed Monica in a long time I do suggest that you do as she has done incredible work in the anti-bullying world.

Magnetic phone mount

So back in December we spent the holidays in Portland visiting my best friend and his wife, and he had this super handy magnet that clipped into his car vent and held his phone. I immediately put it into my cart on Amazon and just recently purchased it, and I love it! Whether you're trying to GPS your way somewhere, listening to a playlist or podcast, or just want to see messages when they pop up (PSA: Don't text and drive!), it's so much better than having your phone on your seat next to you or in your cupholder. I particularly love it when I need to GPS my way somewhere; it's right up front where I can look without barely taking my eyes off the road.

Both Box wine

I love a good bottle of wine just as much as the next person, but I wouldn't consider myself a wine snob at all. If it's good, I don't care how much it is, and that's why I love the Bota Box. Throw all of your preconceived notions about boxed wine out of the window because the Bota Box is gooooooood. Like, I would pour you a glass and you'd have no idea that I just gave you a glass of boxed wine. I always have a box of the Cabernet on hand, but this summer I can't wait to try some of the white's when it gets more of that beautiful patio weather and you want a nice crisp glass of wine or a spritzer.

So these are the things that I'm crushing on this month. I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you want to see anything in particular, have any questions, or have feedback on this new roundup post please do let me know. And of course - share what you're loving this month with me!
